The Tahitian Pearl Association Hong Kong (TPAHK) has a new set of leaders effective this month. Chan Ming Wing, chairman of Chan Ming Wing Pearl International Ltd, is now TPAHK president, while Ng Ming Shun, also of Chan Ming Wing Pearl International Ltd, has been appointed executive president.
Former TPAHK Co-presidents Rio Pearl Chairman Johnny Cheng and Man Sang Jewellery (Hong Kong) Ltd CEO Amy Yan are now honorary life presidents and remain on the association’s Board of Directors.
Cheng and Chan founded TPAHK in 2007 to promote Tahitian pearls in the Hong Kong market. Cheng served as its president till 2019 when he became co-president with Yan. Chan, meanwhile, was TPAHK’s honorary life founding president and supervisor of the board prior to assuming his new role as president on April 1, 2024.
Under their leadership, TPAHK has played a pivotal role in bolstering demand for Tahitian pearls in the international market.
Over the years, the association has organised jewellery design competitions, study tours, seminars, jewellery parades and various other activities to enhance trade and public awareness and appreciation of Tahitian pearls.
