An iconic gemstone-studded necklace by Cartier alongside carefully curated diamond and gemstone pieces will take centre stage at Christie’s Magnificent Jewels auction in Hong Kong.
Scheduled for May 27, 2024, the auction will offer 117 lots with an estimated value of HK$330.25 million (about US$42 million).
The top lot – the Cartier India Tutti-Frutti necklace – has a pre-sale estimate of HK$28 million to HK$38 million (approximately US$3.6 million to US$4.9 million). The necklace is adorned with cascading white diamonds and coloured gems bearing the iconic greens, blues and reds that Tutti-Frutti jewellery pieces are known for.
Other notable pieces include a ring with an 8.01-carat Pigeon’s Blood ruby of Burmese origin; and a necklace with two impressive diamond centre gems of 20.7 carats and 10.02 carats, respectively. Both ring and necklace are each expected to fetch HK$15 million to HK$25 million (around US$2 million to US$3.2 million).
“This remarkable auction also showcases exquisite jadeites, revered as symbolic treasures in Chinese culture,” noted Christie’s. “The meticulously curated sale is sure to attract discerning collectors and enthusiasts alike and strives to establish remarkable milestones in the realm of fine jewellery.”
