A 15.48-carat diamond, described as the largest fancy intense pink internally flawless diamond ever to be offered at auction, is the star of an upcoming Christie’s sale in Hong Kong.
Named “The Pink Supreme”, the rare diamond will take centre stage at Christie’s Magnificent Jewels live auction scheduled for November 27, 2023. The ring is expected to fetch HK$70 million to HK$100 million (around US$9 million to US$12 million).
“A true rarity, The Pink Supreme’s sensational ‘fancy intense’ pink hue is a distinction only a fraction of pink diamonds achieve from the Gemological Institute of America, and its Type IIA classification represents less than a mere 2 per cent of all gem diamonds,” noted Christie’s.
Another highlight of the sale is a necklace adorned with a 40.05-carat Golconda diamond with pink diamond accents. This is “the largest Golconda diamond to appear at auction in a decade,” according to Christie’s. It has a pre-sale estimate of HK$28.5 million to HK$38 million (approximately US$3.6 million to US$4.8 million).
A 3.51-carat fancy vivid blue VS2 diamond ring, valued at HK$45 million to HK$65 million (about US$5.8 million to US$8 million, is also expected to garner attention at the event.
More than 110 lots featuring an assortment of fancy colour and colourless diamonds, jadeites, no-oil Colombian emeralds, and Burmese rubies and sapphires, will be on offer this season.
