Jemora Gemhouse, a newly launched auction house specialising in rare coloured gemstones, is conducting its inaugural auction of high-value sapphires in Dubai next month.
According to Dev Shetty, founder and CEO of Jemora Gemhouse, the auction, scheduled for March 17 to 19, 2025 at the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE), will feature an exceptional selection of blue, pink, Padparadscha and yellow sapphires from renowned sources such as Kashmir, Madagascar and Sri Lanka.
Shetty noted, “Each sapphire selected will undergo rigorous evaluation and verification to ensure its authenticity, quality and value. Unlike traditional auction houses, Jemora Gemhouse will not display or circulate photos or videos of gems on any online platform.”
Buyers participating in the by-invitation-only event can view the lots in person at the DDE during the auction dates. They are to place their bids on a web-based platform on March 20.
Those interested can apply online if they wish to participate in the auction. They will then receive an invitation and undergo a thorough KYC process to ensure that they meet Jemora Gemhouse's selection criteria.
According to the auction house, every gemstone is certified by leading laboratories, including AGL, GRS, SSEF, Gübelin and Bellerophon.
Jemora Gemhouse specialises in extremely rare and exclusive polished coloured gemstones. Shetty previously worked at Gemfields and founded Fura Gems, which discovered the historic Estrela de Fura ruby that later sold at Sotheby’s New York for US$34.8 million.
Jemora Gemhouse is planning to include other rare and high-value coloured gemstones such as ruby, emerald, alexandrite, Paraiba tourmaline and spinel in its upcoming auctions.
