A lab-grown diamond (LGD) symposium scheduled for July 10, 2023 in Dubai will highlight bright spots and challenges in the growing LGD sector.
The inaugural event, to be hosted by the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), will gather global leaders in the lab-grown and technology space, including retailers, financial institutions, government representatives, LGD growers and manufacturers and other industry stakeholders to drive consensus and actions to support long-term success in the LGD industry.
Symposium discussions will revolve around financing and regulation, marketing and sustainability, among other topics. Participants, rather than speakers, will set the pace and agenda of discussions. DMCC earlier announced plans to further strengthen its status as a leading trade and technology hub that facilitates business in many areas including LGDs.
Ahmed Bin Sulayem, executive chairman and CEO of DMCC, said, “Lab-grown represents a completely new and unique industry with its own set of opportunities, from jewellery to heat sinks and semiconductors. This symposium shows we are ahead of the curve in driving crucial industry conversation for lasting and positive outcomes not just in Dubai but at the global level.”
