Esteemed jewellers celebrate the versatility and sophistication of gold jewellery through innovative designs and time-tested goldsmithing techniques.
Hong Kong jeweller Chow Tai Fook Jewellery recently unveiled the Joie Collection, which features 24-karat gold necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings. The pieces take inspiration from traditional locks and the Chinese character for “happiness” (喜) – all bearing auspicious connotations in Chinese culture.
Some standout pieces have a unique rotating mechanism that allows them to swivel and fasten, reminiscent of antique padlocks.
Meanwhile, Buccellati is training the spotlight on its twisted thread technique in the Étoilée Collection. To create these exceptional designs, the maison’s artisans crafted yellow gold into fine threads that intertwine and create rhomboidal spaces, within which small diamond-studded white gold lilies bloom, according to the jeweller.
