A spectacular array of rare, interesting gems is catching the attention of professional trade buyers at Jewellery, Gem & Technology in Dubai (JGTD) 2025, which is taking place at the Dubai Exhibition Centre till November 13.
Ecija Jewelry of the US is presenting the next chapter of its Pearl Odyssey exhibit of rare natural pearls at this year’s show. Featuring a curated selection of natural pearls of heritage value, the showcase includes the Pearl of Guadalupe, a 145-carat natural saltwater abalone pearl.
Available for sale, each pearl is displayed in a way that offers insight into their origins and variety, highlighting its value as nature’s masterpieces.
Ecija, which is making its first appearance at JGTD this year, focuses on promoting the rarity and beauty of natural pearls. Founder Aylene Norris said the Middle East is a new market for the company.
Meanwhile, AVYK Diamond Co Ltd of Thailand is presenting a spectacular array of diamond jewellery at its booth in JGTD’s inaugural High-end Jewellery & Gems Zone.
Highlights include yellow and white diamond drop earrings, elegant ruby and diamond bracelets, a diamond necklace with vibrant Colombian emeralds and exquisite necklaces and bracelets comprising rows upon rows of sparkling fancy cut diamonds.
Other premium exhibitors in this zone include Arjiv Exports, Beautiful Colorstone Co Ltd, Colorjewels, Krainz Creations Inc, Noor Gems Japan and Osi Vitoria Jewelry.
Canada’s Korite Ammolite Ltd, for its part, is shining the spotlight on ammolite, which is formed from the fossilised shells of ancient sea creatures over 70 million years ago. The organic gemstone is found only in southern Alberta, Canada.
Founded in 1979, Korite was acquired in September 2024 by Amarjeet Grewal, who is breathing new life into the company through proactive marketing, designer collaborations and fresh innovations.
Grewal said, "There was great interest from Middle East buyers at Hong Kong fairs in our jewellery and loose stones, so we decided to bring our products to Dubai and get a deeper understanding of the market."
At JGTD, Korite is presenting an extensive array of ammolite jewellery in gold and silver along with a wide range of ammonite fossils.
