Luxury jeweller Bulgari is upping the ante in high-end jewellery design with the launch of the Aeterna Collection, featuring the most phenomenal jewellery pieces it has ever created.
Aeterna, unveiled in celebration of Bulgari’s 140th anniversary, comprises an assortment of intricately crafted high jewellery pieces adorned with impressive diamonds and coloured gemstones.
Headlining the collection is the Serpenti Aeterna necklace, hailed by Bulgari as “the most precious work of art” in its luxury jewellery arsenal.
A rough diamond of over 200 carats was cut to create seven pear-shaped, flawless D-colour diamond drops that serve as the necklace’s centrepiece. With a combined weight of 140 carats, each drop represents a year in the brand’s rich history. The drops are embraced in a sinuous three-dimensional wave structure in platinum. A total of 698 baguette diamonds weighing 61.81 carats complete the necklace.
Lucia Silvestri, Bulgari’s jewellery creative director, commented, “We wanted to create something unique in a Bulgari way, keep challenging ourselves and surprising everyone with the decision to give diamonds the role of the protagonist, while including it into the Serpenti family.”
Other highlights of the collection are several statement pieces. These include the Sapphire Aeterna Waves necklace in platinum, which is adorned with a 38.93-carat cushion-cut sapphire pendant and diamond accents. The pendant is detachable, highlighting Bulgari’s passion for and expertise in transformative and versatile jewellery.
Meanwhile, a 77.78-carat pear-shaped rubellite in a vibrant strawberry red hue suspended from the mouth of a bejewelled snake is the centrepiece of the Serpenti Chiseled necklace. The piece is further enhanced with black onyx, amethysts and diamonds.
