An expansive range of fancy colour diamonds alongside coloured gemstones and signed jewellery pieces are the stars of an upcoming Phillips auction in Hong Kong.
Top lots include a 15.51-carat fancy vivid yellow diamond ring, which has a pre-sale estimate of HK$7.4 million to HK$9.7 million (around US$950,000 to US$1.25 million); and a 1.38-carat fancy vivid purplish pink diamond and pink sapphire ring, which is valued at HK$2.4 million to HK$3.5 million (approximately US$425,000 to US$560,000).
Phillips’ Hong Kong Jewels Auction scheduled for March 28 will be held at its Asia headquarters in Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District.
Louisa Chan, head of sale at Phillips Jewels in Hong Kong, said the auction echoes strong market demand for rare and important fancy colour diamonds. She added, “The sale also brings together a stunning array of treasures – from the finest Burmese rubies, Colombian emeralds, vintage signed pieces from Bulgari, Cartier, and Van Cleef & Arpels, as well as red spinels and Paraíba tourmalines that are currently sought after by collectors and connoisseurs.”
