The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is once again hosting Career Fair – Powered by GIA, a highly anticipated industry event that targets fresh talents and professionals alike in the global gemstone and jewellery trade.
The fair, scheduled for March 13, 2023 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City, will feature a keynote speech from Wall Street lawyer and now talk show host Jordan Harbinger as well as a panel discussion on the state of the industry.
“Career Fair – Powered by GIA is the premier event for finding success in the gem and jewellery industry,” said Susan Jacques, GIA president and CEO. “Jewellery is a fun and emotional industry and a very personal business. Career Fair is the place for face-to-face meetings with recruiters looking to hire right now and industry professionals ready to offer their insights as they seek new positions within the trade.”
Panel speakers include Marty Hurwitz, CEO and founder of THE MVEye; Johanna Levy, vice president of environmental, social and governance (ESG) programs at GIA; and David Berdugo, chief operating officer at BlueNile.com and JamesAllen.com.
Attendees will have the opportunity to speak directly with recruiters who are hiring for positions from entry-level to management in buying, social media, gemmology, jewellery manufacturing and repair, jewellery design, marketing, sales and IT, among others. They can also connect with brands such as Tiffany & Co, Harry Winston, Brilliant Earth, Diamonds Direct, De Beers Group and more, according to GIA.
