Refined jewellery pieces, worth HK$100 million (around US$12.74 million), from celebrated Hong Kong actress Rosamund Kwan’s collection are going under the hammer at Christie’s Hong Kong.
The sale is one of the highlights of Christie’s Magnificent Jewels live auction scheduled for November 28 in Hong Kong.
Kwan’s collection consists of 51 vintage pieces by renowned jewellers such as Cartier, Buccellati, Bulgari, Van Cleef & Arpels, Louis Vuitton and Boghossian, featuring an assortment of diamonds, fancy colour diamonds, rubies, natural pearls, jadeites and emeralds.
The top lots are a 12.64-carat no-heat Burmese ruby and diamond ring by Boghossian with a pre-sale estimate of HK$22 million to HK$35 million (around US$2.8 million to US$4.45 million) and a ruby and diamond bracelet valued at HK$500,000 to HK$800,000 (around US$63,700 to US$102,000).
A portion of the sale proceeds will be donated to charity.
Kwan remarked, “These pieces are a perfect representation of my preferred style: Vintage and simple, but also elegant, timeless and very easy to match and wear. Each piece carries significance to my collecting journey and personal life and evokes some fond memories.”
