A curated selection of fancy colour diamonds, coloured gemstones and finished jewellery – led by a rare purplish-pink diamond ring – will shine at Christie’s Magnificent Jewels auction in New York.
Scheduled for April 13, the sale will feature the Fuchsia Rose, a fancy intense purple-pink diamond weighing 8.82 carats with a US$4 million to US$6 million pre-sale estimate.
Other highlights of the auction include a fancy blue diamond ring of 11.63 carats and a fancy vivid yellow diamond ring of 15.31 carats. Coloured gemstones such as an antique Kashmir sapphire pendant, formerly from the collection of Princess Elsie Burhaneddin, and a Van Cleef & Arpels Burmese sapphire ring from the Rockefeller family, are also expected to attract considerable attention.
Other notable pieces include a JAR “Watercolor Flowers” brooch and a Tiffany & Co antique pendant-watch commissioned on the occasion of the ground-breaking of the New York City subway system.
