An expansive array of diamonds, coloured gemstones and vintage jewellery pieces is taking centre stage at Phillips’ Jewels & Jadeite fall auction scheduled for November 27 in Hong Kong.
The sale will offer 96 exceptionally curated lots, led by a 20.27-carat D-colour flawless Type IIA diamond ring with a pre-sale estimate of HK$14 million to HK$18 million (around US$1.8 million to US$2.3 million). The diamond was sourced from the legendary Letšeng mine.
Another star of the auction is a 5.06-carat fancy pink-purple diamond ring valued at HK$11 million to HK$19 million (around US$1.4 million to US$2.4 million).
Charlene Lau, head of Department at Phillips Jewels Hong Kong, said market appetite for jewellery and other luxury items from international collectors, Asia in particular, has remained strong over the past two years.
“We have witnessed heated bidding for top-quality jewels from our most recent online sales and we look forward to carrying on this sturdy buying momentum to our sale room in Hong Kong this month,” she noted.
The upcoming auction will also feature signed vintage pieces by powerhouses such as Bulgari and Cartier, and jadeite pieces in modern designs.
