The Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) has elected industry veteran Arnon Juwal as new IDI chairman, following Yoram Dvash’s resignation. Juwal will head the institute over a three-year term.
Juwal, a second-generation diamantaire, is a partner at S Juwal & Co – a company founded by his father more than 40 years ago. He was first elected to the board of directors of Diamond Exchange Enterprises in 2007, the economic arm of the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE). He still serves as board member and chairman of its insurance and taxation committees. Juwal was also vice president of IDE where he headed the rough diamond committee.
Juwal commented, “We are emerging from a very difficult time, and although the Israeli diamond industry has rebounded, there are still many issues that we must deal with. IDI is responsible for several functions that are essential to the success of the Israeli diamond industry. I look forward to leading the institute in these crucial times.”
