De Beers Group has named finance expert Sarah Kuijlaars as its new chief financial officer, effective September 1. She will join the group’s board and executive committee.
Bruce Cleaver, CEO of De Beers Group, cited Kujilaars’ strong track record with a number of global, multinational businesses.
Kuijlaars was previously CFO of Arcadis NV, a global design and engineering consultancy, with a listing on the Euronext Amsterdam Stock Exchange. Prior to this, she was deputy CFO at Rolls Royce Holdings plc, and held a number of senior financial leadership roles during a 25-year career at Royal Dutch Shell plc.
She has also worked in several destinations including Nigeria, Russia, Brazil and the Middle East.
Kujilaars’ appointment follows the resignation of Nimesh Patel on April 2, who will leave De Beers Group on July 26.
