Visitors to Jewellery & Gem ASIA Hong Kong (JGA) 2021 can take part in a wide range of services and activities being held on the sidelines of the fair, including gemstone-consulting services as well as a diamond lucky draw.
Participants are given the opportunity to learn gemstone facts straight from the experts. JGA’s I Love Jewellery Experience includes complimentary common gemstone variety identification services by the Hong Kong Gems Laboratory or HKGL.
Available daily from 10.30am to 1pm and 2pm to 5.30pm, the free service covers:
• Identification of common gemstone varieties (including jade and loose coloured gemstones; precious metals NOT included)
• Naked-eye observation
• Testing with simple instruments
• Results will be given verbally
Each guest is limited to two items per visit. In case of mounted gemstones, treated gemstones, gemstone origin queries and special specimens, which require further advanced testing, a testing service fee might be incurred. Established in 1987, HKGL was founded by internationally renowned gemmologist, Ou Yang Chiu Mei.
A number of enticing prizes are likewise up for grabs at the show. The Diamond Lucky Draw gives away a total of seven 0.30-carat GIA-certified diamonds, two each on June 24, 25 and 26 and one on June 27.
The Grand Prizes on June 27 are a pink diamond pendant and a pair of pink diamond earrings.
Visitors can redeem a lucky draw coupon upon a purchase of HK$2,000 (around US$257). Only one receipt can be used each time, and a maximum of five coupons may be redeemed per receipt.
The Lucky Draw, sponsored by R A Gem, is held at 4:30pm each day. The ceremony at the Lucky Draw area will be streamed live on the show organiser’s Facebook account (@InformaMarketsJewellery).
JGA 2021 is open from 10am to 6pm from June 24 to 26, and from 10am to 5pm on June 27.
