Platinum Guild International (PGI) has named Vaishali Banerjee as head of Global Market Development as part of its strategy to unlock global demand potential for platinum.
Banerjee will continue to serve in her existing role as managing director for India and the Middle East.
Pallavi Sharma, meanwhile, has been elevated to deputy country manager – India & ME, reinforcing PGI’s commitment to growing platinum demand through direct engagement, partnerships and market development initiatives in these priority markets.
“We are witnessing a shift in global sentiment towards meaningful consumption. Platinum – with its rarity, preciousness, and enduring value – is perfectly poised to accompany this moment,” said Banerjee. “I look forward to further strengthening our presence in India and the UAE while building momentum across key and emerging global markets.”
Sharma added that PGI will focus on deepening consumer connections and expanding retail partnerships to ensure sustainable category growth across India and the UAE.
According to PGI, these strategic appointments align with platinum’s rising global appeal, driven by its price advantage and rarity, signaling a new growth chapter for the metal.
