Rubies, sapphires and emeralds – renowned as royalties in the coloured gemstone world – are once again commanding the spotlight in the latest collections of luxury jewellers, celebrating the gems’ timeless appeal with fresh artistry.
Harry Winston’s Talk to Me High Jewellery Collection is a testament to this enduring fascination for the classic trio. New masterpieces showcase coveted rubies, emeralds and sapphires, alongside an array of rare coloured gemstones and diamonds.
Divided into three chapters – “King of Diamonds,” “Rare Jeweler of the World,” and “Jeweler to the Stars,” – the collection celebrates the maison’s commitment to extraordinary gemstones and its artistry in transforming them into one-of-a-kind jewels.
Among the collection’s highlights are a necklace with a 65.61-carat cabochon sugarloaf sapphire centre stone in a deep and intense royal blue tone, embellished by custom-cut pyramid-shaped diamonds; an emerald and diamond suite comprising a necklace, ring and pair of earrings; and a statement brooch featuring a 5.01-carat red ruby, 71 diamonds and a South Sea pearl weighing 17.08 carats.
Cartier, for its part, shone the spotlight on sapphire and emerald in its new chapter of En Équilibre High Jewellery Collection. The Byzas necklace pairs an 11.7-carat pear-shaped Ceylon sapphire with eight Zambian emeralds totalling 9.31 carats.
“The design unfolds in a series of graphic motifs that enhance the cushion-cut shape of the emeralds through a play of curves and counter-curves. The sapphire pendant adds strength and contrast,” explained Cartier.
Meanwhile, a standout piece from Tiffany's Blue Book 2025: Sea of Wonder – the Anemone necklace – was brought to life with three natural Mozambique rubies weighing a total of nearly 5 carats. Prized for their evenly saturated red hue, the rubies appear to dance within the design.
