Jewellery brands continue to celebrate the versatility of highly coveted South Sea pearls with jewellery collections that combine the gems’ timeless charm with modern designs.
Australian South Sea pearl specialist Paspaley recently unveiled its new Anchored in Paspaley Collection, highlighting the natural lustre of South Sea pearls.
Each design draws inspiration from the nautical hardware used on pearling vessels. Examples are the Diamond Anchor Link pearl earrings and matching pendant, and the Blue Sapphire Bollard Split ring.
The collection also includes three new necklace designs based on its signature Lavalier Collection – the Turquoise Anchored Lavalier pearl necklace, Tassel Anchored Lavalier pearl necklace and Moonstone Anchored Lavalier pearl necklace. A special feature of these pieces is the custom cast anchor links that “honour Paspaley's adventurous spirit and heritage,” said the company.
Japanese jewellery brand Tasaki, meanwhile, introduced new designs in its Balance Collection as the brand celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2024. One of the highlights is the Balance Luxe necklace, which features a geometric arrangement of pavé diamond bars in hexagonal shape, each adorned with white or golden South Sea pearls.
