Miranda Group (Brazil & Africa) Ltd is shining the spotlight on its Rubelite Ouro Fino Collection, consisting of stunning layouts of rubellites from one of its associate mines in Nigeria. According to Cam Li, managing director of Miranda Group, the gems in this collection bear exceptional qualities and colours comparable to those found in the renowned Ouro Fino Mine in Minas Gerais, Brazil, which was discovered three decades ago. “Rubellites featured in the Rubelite Ouro Fino Collection are meticulously cut and polished to the highest quality. This collection celebrates rubellites for their ruby-like tones of lustrous pink-red to red colour and nearly flawless quality,” Li said. Meanwhile, a spectacular 21.35-carat heartshaped diamond is glittering in the display window of Venus Jewel. Company Head of Marketing & PR Jagat Thakkar said the D-colour VS1 diamond is valued at an estimated US$1.5 million. Venus Jewel is off to a strong start at JGW 2025, with the diamantaire already meeting with serious buyers from Hong Kong and China on the first day of the show, according to Thakkar. Over at Ceylon Fine Gems Pvt Ltd, pride of place belongs to a pink sapphire of over 20 carats as well as a pair of alexandrites of some 9 carats each, certified by SSEF. Milfer Caffoor, director of the Sri Lankan fine gemstone company, said, “Gem-quality alexandrites of this size are generally quite difficult to find in pairs.” Caffoor noted heightened demand from Europe and India for gem-quality coloured gemstones, with blue, pink and Padparadscha sapphires moving particularly well. The conference is organised by the Hong Kong Jewellery and Jade Manufacturers Association (HKJJA) and AGJA. HKJJA Chairman Victor Chan and President and Director Benedict Sin along with AGJA President Suttipong Damrongsakul will present the event. With the theme, “To create and build a sustainable ASEAN Jewellery Network,” the conference will examine how jewellers can harness technology, sustainable initiatives, craftsmanship and collaboration to drive growth in the jewellery industries of ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) and Hong Kong. The session, “Creating a unified ASEAN jewellery network with Hong Kong expertise in design and trade,” will be moderated by Lawence Ma, founding president of Diamond Federation of Hong Kong, China (DFHK).
