SHOW DAILY by JNA • 8 NEWS JewelleryNet.com Day 4 • 19 September 2024 Pearl specialist Autore is shining the spotlight on the remarkable South Sea pearl at its booth in Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong (JGW) 2024. Brightening the Grand Hall of JGW’s finished jewellery section at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Autore’s latest pearl jewellery collections are sure to fascinate trade buyers. South Sea pearls, specifically lustrous white South Sea pearls, enjoyed solid demand in 2023 and in the first half of 2024, revealed founder Rosario Autore. Market interest was strong in Europe, Asia, Australia and the Middle East. “Appetite for white South Sea pearls is strong and prices are steadily increasing as proven by results of our 2023 and 2024 auctions,” remarked Rosario. About 90 per cent to 95 per cent of pearl lots offered at Autore’s auctions sell amid business uncertainties. This is due to buyers’ unwavering fascination for top-quality South Sea pearls. Demand for novelty and individuality, meanwhile, also drives interest in unconventional shapes like baroque and keshi pearls, notably in Australia and China. The company owns and operates 10 South Sea pearl farms across Australia and Indonesia, harvesting over 350,000 pearls per year.
