SHOW DAILY by JNA • 6 NEWS JewelleryNet.com Day 1 • 16 September 2024 Hong Kong-based Rio Pearl is out to impress professional trade buyers at Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong with its innovative offerings. The pearl farmer and dealer recently launched two revolutionary products that are taking the market by storm: Rainbow Gold South Sea pearls and M White South Sea pearls. Both pearl products are produced in Rio Pearl’s farms off the pristine waters of the Mergui Archipelago in Myanmar. Introduced in 2023, Rainbow Gold South Sea pearls display mesmerising shades of red, pink and green. While such pearls are a naturally occurring variant of golden South Sea pearls, producing entire lots of these in top quality is quite a feat – one that took Rio Pearl a few years to achieve and perfect. BHC Diamonds (Thai) Co Ltd is offering its exclusive collections of small diamonds for the production needs of jewellery brands, designers and high-end manufacturers. Its product range consists of white and top light brown (TTLB) diamonds of 0.9mm to 4.1mm, dark brown (C1-C6) diamonds of 1.3mm to 5mm and black diamonds of 0.9mm to 13mm. The company’s special selections at Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong (JGW) are white diamonds of 0.9mm to 2.6mm in all qualities, which cost from US$250 to US$650 per carat. “We expect white and light brown diamonds of 0.9mm to 2.6mm to move particularly well at the show. Business should be solid, especially from Western markets as they prepare for heightened demand in the upcoming Christmas season,” the melee specialist remarked. BHC Diamonds aims to touch base with regular clients and new potential customers from its main markets of Asia, Europe and the US. It is likewise keen to explore business opportunities with buyers from the Middle East and Australia at JGW 2024. The company entered the diamond business in 1970 in India, where it still maintains its headquarters and state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. Offices in Bangkok and New York service international clients. M White South Sea, meanwhile, was unveiled early this year as Myanmar’s first top-quality white South Sea pearl. The country is known for producing predominantly golden South Sea pearls. According to Rio Pearl, strong demand for these products testifies to buyers’ preference for innovative products that stand out in the market. “Rainbow Gold is considered a premium pearl and is favoured in various countries. M White South Sea pearls are preferred by customers seeking an exquisite and dedicated lustre,” said the company. Rio Pearl is not resting on its laurels though. Its research and development efforts continue, currently with the goal to upgrade the quality and appearance of these pearls as well as identifying methods to bolster production at its farms in Myanmar.
