Wan Chai Promenade Part of Hong Kong’s Harbourfront Shared Spaces project, the recently opened section of the Wan Chai Promenade connects the waterfront from Tamar in Admiralty to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and then to the Yacht Club and marina. Undulating grass berms create an expansive lawn in Wan Chai where a variety of seats, including sculptural pieces, are positioned for maximum visual enjoyment of Victoria Harbour. Perfect for a stroll on dry evenings, the promenade is now a popular place to watch the Symphony of Lights show at 8:00pm daily. If venturing out during the day, bring an umbrella to protect against the sun or sudden squally showers. The trees here are young and need more time to grow into shade cover. World of Frozen and Castle of Magical Dreams in HK Disneyland World of Frozen is the first, highly immersive themed area based on the Frozen franchise. It debuted at Hong Kong Disneyland in 2023. Reimagining the fictional kingdom of Arendelle where the beloved main characters, Elsa and Anna, reside, World of Frozen blends in with the mountains and impressive landscape of Lantau Island. Its centrepiece is the Arendelle castle and a high-speed ride, Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs, which contrasts with the leisurely boat ride, Frozen Ever After. Another recent attraction is Castle of Magical Dreams, which replaced Sleeping Beauty’s castle. It is composed of towers for each Disney princess and key characters that has its own architectural style and decoration. Venue: Hong Kong Disneyland Resort, Lantau Island Opening Hours: 10:30am to 8:30pm daily Ticketing: https://www.hongkongdisneyland.com/faq/online-ticketsales/buying-ticket-online/ Getting There: Take MTR Island line to Central Station; then transfer to Tung Chung line and get off at Sunny Bay Station Upgraded Peak Tram Hong Kong’s iconic funicular that connects Central to the highest point on Hong Kong island, the Victoria Peak, was upgraded in end-2022. Larger tram cars, skylight ceilings, wider windows and increased capacity define the 6th generation of cars on this ride, which was established in 1888. Haulage control and signaling systems were replaced and new ropes and track rails installed. The Central Terminus on Garden Road benefited the most: A 10-metre sculpture, Eye of Infinity, is in the forecourt while a first-generation peak tram replica – a display of historical haulage equipment and AV presentation – aptly demonstrate how the experience has transformed over the decades. Opening Hours: 7:30am to 11:00pm daily, including public holidays Frequency: Every 15 to 20 minutes Antarctica 3D The Dome Show called Antarctica 3D, currently shown at the Hong Kong Space Museum, is a magical immersion into the fragile depths of the ocean beneath the ice in the coldest, driest and windiest place on earth. Through this spectacular film footage, revealed for the first time in this show, viewers get a glimpse of the underwater world that still teems with life despite its fragility. Some breathtaking moments are the spectacular experience of the continent’s vast penguin colonies and a massive congregation of whales, the largest gathering ever filmed.
