SHOW DAILY by JNA • 19 Day 3 • 20 September 2023 JewelleryNet.com NEWS Exquisite offerings from Japanese jewellers Ito commented, “I use genuine natural materials and intricate craftsmanship to produce every jewellery piece. Only a refined and meticulous artist can bring out the colours and lustre of seashells and the gloss of lacquer.” IML Co Ltd, for its part, is presenting delicate and refined diamond jewellery pieces from its NuDia brand, which was founded in 2015. It specialises in a modern laser technique to achieve a unique diamond setting. Fine-quality coloured gemstone jewellery, meanwhile, are headlining Tomikura Co Ltd’s participation in JGW. Over at the booth of BICO GHI Corp at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, pride of place belongs to the company’s Japanese Kihei chain for men and women. Composed of small, twisted bean chains, these offer more reflective facets and a shinier appearance. “All of our Kihei chains are 12-sided, meaning they are more exquisite than 2-sided, 6-sided or 8-sided chains. There are fewer gaps in between so the chains are resistant to breakage. They are very durable and soft,” the company said. BICO GHI specialises in made-in-Japan 18-karat and platinum classic chains, Kihei chains, snake bone chains and gold coin pendants. It is celebrating its 57th anniversary this year. Jewellery designers and manufacturers from Japan have brought their intricately designed and largely culturally inspired collections to Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong (JGW). Designer Keiko Ito is shining the light on her celebrated jewellery pieces made using traditional techniques such as raden or mother-of-pearl inlay and urushi or Japanese lacquer. Her offerings at the show include raden and urushi pendants and brooches further adorned with diamonds and pink tourmaline in 18-karat yellow gold.
