SPOTLIGHT 市场聚焦 24 | JNA May/June 2025 Informa Markets Jewellery is once again casting the spotlight on sustainability in its Jewellery World Awards (JWA) programme this year. The Sustainability Awards 2025 by JWA returns with five new categories, namely Environmental Stewardship: Life Below Water & Life On Land; Community Catalyst; Tech for a Sustainable Future; Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; and Sustainability Leadership. Highlighting sustainable achievements in 2024, this year's categories all centre around the 3Ps: People, Planet and Prosperity. These initiatives include efforts towards achieving net-zero emissions; embracing eco-friendly manufacturing practices and responsible sourcing of materials; using advanced technologies that prioritise environmental sustainability and circularity; advocating for diversity, equity and inclusion; and actively engaging in community empowerment and collaboration. Building on the foundation set by the previous year’s edition, the award categories for 2025 have been refined in response to industry feedback and to more accurately mirror current realities. Noteworthy changes include the division of the Environmental Stewardship Award into two sub-categories, “Life Below Water” and “Life on Land,” recognising accomplishments in these distinct yet interlinked domains. “Previously known as the JNA Awards, JWA was launched by Informa Markets Jewellery in 2012 to celebrate pioneers, change-makers and exceptional business leaders who purposefully drive positive change in the world of jewellery and beyond. Since 2024, the programme has shifted its attention to highlighting companies leading the charge towards a greener and more socially responsible industry, reflecting the growing emphasis on a culture centred around sustainability,” said Celine Lau, director of Jewellery Fairs at Informa Markets Jewellery. “The 2025 edition continues this tradition by honouring enterprises that are boldly tackling the challenge of creating a more sustainable world.” Sustainable agenda Open to private or commercial organisations, the awards programme aims to recognise sustainability champions in the fine jewellery, gemstone and related industries, irrespective of a company’s size, area of specialisation or geographical location. To qualify for the Awards, applicants had to provide compelling evidence demonstrating the effective implementation and tangible outcomes of their sustainability initiatives in 2024. Entries were accepted through online nomination forms on the JWA website until April 22, 2025. The independent jury panel consists of five experts representing a diverse range of knowledge and experience from within and outside the jewellery industry. They are John Mulligan, head of Sustainability Strategy at the World Gold Council (WGC) and president of the Sustainable Development Commission of the World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO); Brandee Dallow, president of Ethical Metalsmiths and chief sustainability officer of Grandview Klein Diamonds; Caroline Yuan, vice president of the Shanghai Diamond Exchange (SDE); Andrew Lau, director of ESG Advisory for Colliers Asia, and Jan Porter, director of ESG at Meiyume, a B2B provider of beauty solutions. Finalists will be announced during the media gathering at Jewellery & Gem ASIA Hong Kong on June 19, 2025. The Sustainability Awards by JWA continues to celebrate establishments that place positive change at the core of their business agenda. 2025年JWA可持续发展大奖继续表彰以可持续性为业务核心的企业。 Sustaining sustainability 延续可持续发展精神 Categories of the Sustainability Awards 2025 by JWA JWA 2025年可持续发展大奖类别 • Environmental Stewardship Award: Life Below Water & Life On Land 环境管理奖:水下生态及陆地生态 • Community Catalyst Award 社区促进奖 • Tech for a Sustainable Future Award 成就可持续未来科技奖 • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Award 多元、公平及包容奖 • Sustainability Leadership Award 可持续发展领导奖
