DESIGN 42 | JNA September/October 2022 Bulgari, for its part, looks to the colours of nature in its latest High Jewellery collection – Eden, The Garden of Wonders. For the first time in the brand’s history, over 30 of the collection’s more than 140 masterpieces are dedicated to the magnificent emerald. Pride of place belongs to the Emerald Glory, whose texture replicates the softness of lace. Featuring a detachable choker, the piece can be worn as a necklace or a tiara. The high jewellery creation features 11 pearshaped Colombian emeralds surrounded by a cascade of diamonds totalling over 220 carats. The Tribute to Paris necklace, for its part, showcases a 35.33-carat Colombian emerald surrounded by inlays of emeralds and diamonds evoking the slender silhouette of the Eiffel Tower, while in the Emerald Venus necklace, ferns of emerald beads and diamonds grow around a 20-carat, octagonal Colombian emerald. Bulgari’s legendary Serpenti icon also slithers into the collection. The Serpenti Spinel Embrace necklace wraps around a 25.70-carat drop-shaped pink spinel from Tajikistan, while two snakes fuse into one to hold a 61.30-carat Sri Lankan sapphire in the Serpenti Ocean Treasure platinum and diamond necklace. In the Flowers of Eden neckace, Bulgari reaches new heights of colour experimentation in a dazzling bouquet of gemstones. The asymmetrical wonder recreates the spontaneity of nature with tourmalines, carnelians, amethysts and emeralds surrounding three mother-of-pearl flowers embellished with diamonds. And the Mediterranean Reverie necklace shows off a rare 107.15-carat cushion-cut Sri Lankan sapphire at its finest.
