设计 JNA Mar/Apr 2022 | 31 The Alchemist of Light High Jewellery collection from De Beers Jewellers captures the transformative and magical force of light in contemporary and versatile diamond creations. Comprising seven sets with a total of 45 one-ofa-kind pieces, the collection is being launched in two chapters. The first two sets – Atomique and Light Rays – were unveiled on January 24 at the Couture Week in Paris. The rest of the collection will get to shine in July during Paris Couture Week. “Our new The Alchemist of Light High Jewellery collection represents the pinnacle of diamond expertise and artistry,” said Céline Assimon, CEO of De Beers Jewellers. “These daring designs push creative and technical boundaries, inspired by the exceptional diamonds that De Beers is able to source, cut and polish to the most exacting standards. We understand and care passionately that our clients not only express their individuality through these wearable works of art, but also bring another layer to the creative story. In this respect, our clients are true alchemists of light, too.” The Atomique set is a creative interpretation of a diamond at a molecular level, portrayed by geometric patterns, abstract motifs, and bold, modern shapes. The seven jewellery pieces depict the pristine clarity of a diamond’s prismatic makeup through pure white diamonds set in 18-karat white gold. Pride of place belongs to the Atomique Collar Necklace with 71.48 carats of ethically sourced diamonds set in white gold. The piece consists of 1,907 diamonds including a removable 18.57-carat internally flawless centre stone (pictured on cover). Also grabbing attention are the Atomique ring with an 11.03-carat round brilliant diamond, a double open ring featuring two contrasting motifs and the Atomique Necklace whose suspended line of diamonds can be removed and attached to a stud earring, resulting in a whole new look. The Light Rays set, meanwhile, recreates the warmth of sunlight radiating over mountaintops or from behind dark clouds in its nine jewellery pieces. Fancy colour rough and polished diamonds in warm tones are amplified by glowing coloured titanium shaped in fan motifs. In contrast, lines of white diamonds are set against dramatic black rhodium-plated gold, representing shafts of light, emanating from shadows. Many of the pieces are transformable, with detachable elements offering flexibility of expression. The Light Rays Collar Necklace showcases a 4.22-carat fancy brownish yellow diamond, amplified by tapered white diamonds and metal rays in anodised titanium and black rhodium-plated gold. The black collar can be detached for a more minimalist statement. The set’s tasselled pendant can also be removed and used as a handbag charm, while its jacket ring with a 1.08-carat fancy vivid orange yellow emerald-cut diamond offers a three-way transformation for greater freedom of expression. Light Rays Crown Ring with a 1.08-carat fancy vivid yellow emerald-cut centre diamond and 2.93 carats of diamonds set in rose gold, black rhodium-plated white gold and titanium. The jacket beneath the central ring can be worn alone.
