MARKET INDICATORS 10 | JNA Nov/Dec 2020 Jewellery demand down in Q3, says WGC World Gold Council’s (WGC) Gold Demand Trends Q3 2020 showed a 29 per cent drop in jewellery demand in Q3, mainly due to market uncertainties and high gold prices. Gold spot price reached US$1,938.45 per ounce as of November 5. Demand however improved from the Q2 record low as governments relaxed restrictions and lockdown measures. The amount is lower than the US$135 per share or approximately US$16.2 billion earlier agreed upon by the two parties. The merger is expected to close in early 2021. Weight in carats of an exceptional white diamond, named “Sethunya” or flower in Setswana, that was recently recovered by Lucara Diamond Corp. Lucara is collaborating with LVMH and diamond manufacturing and tech firm HB Antwerp to cut and polish the diamond.
