The product range for the deposition of gold, silver, platinum, palladium, rhodium, ruthenium and precious metal alloys is brought to the market with the trade names, AURUNA ® , ARGUNA ® , PLATUNA ® , PALLUNA ® , RHODUNA ® and RUTHUNA ® . As the colour of rose gold is currently much sought after in the jewellery and watch industries, Umicore has developed an electroplating solution to meet market demand. AURUNA ® 503 is a neutral, cadmium-free gold copper electrolyte working without free cyanide. The red surfaces are bright, very hard and abrasion-resistant. The electrolyte produces gold-saving coatings (approximately 18 karats) and provides good protection against corrosion and tarnishing. It can deposit layers of up to 10 µm in thickness. Surface finishing with RHODUNA ® Alloy Black brings the elegance of the night onto products. The impressively dark noble metal alloy made of rhodium and ruthenium deposits a noble anthracite colour tone without tone and colour shift. It is extremely resistant to abrasion and offers a price advantage of almost 50 per cent.
