Established in 2013, the company – part of Shashvat Diamonds Inc, which is based in New York – has offices in New York, Hong Kong, Antwerp and London. Classic Grown Diamonds’ transition to the LGD business is a success story, with the manufacturer establishing a solid customer base in major jewellery markets. Global Operations Director Shashvat Sadhani shared, “We have been producing lab-grown diamonds for close to a decade now. We were initially in the HPHT (high pressure, high temperature) natural diamond business and eventually switched to LGDs. It was a monumental shift.” The company’s strength lies in the production of D- to G-colour labgrown diamonds, including solitaires and small loose stones. Its lab-grown diamonds come with certifications from the Gemological Institute of America and the International Gemological Institute. According to Sadhani, the labgrown diamond business has expanded exponentially over the years and continues to gain traction in the international jewellery and gemstone trade. The sector however faces the challenges of building and preserving consumer confidence in lab-grown diamonds. “The lab-grown diamond industry has emerged successfully frommany other challenges in the past. For now, we need to foster confidence in the product.
