Lab-grown diamonds accounted for 28.4 per cent of US engagement ring sales in 2021, up from 18.7 per cent in 2020, according to the 2022 BriteCo Diamond Engagement Ring Report based on data compiled from the 2020-2021 insurance and appraisal database of US jewellery and watch insurance company BriteCo. Average expenditure for a lab-grown diamond engagement ring in 2021 was US$4,388, an 8.6 per cent increase over US$4,037 in 2020.
