More noteworthy are its stringent policies that ensure the prompt and accurate delivery of orders at all times. “From delivering the promised diamonds to shipment delays, all thewaydown tomishandledandmismatched products, there are many risks that could arise during the shipment process, especially from smaller suppliers. As such, we started developing an innovative solution that could address all these problems in one go,” narrates Harshil Shah, Director of Diamonds on Call. VALUE PROPOSITION With hard work, constant research and the help of technical tools, what started out four years ago as a website listing 6,000 diamonds from five suppliers now carries over 500,000 diamonds from more than 450 vendors. Through the years, the company devised means for customers and sellers to save around 65 percent on shipping, customs and wire transfer fees. These cost efficiencies allowed buyers to procure diamonds from smaller suppliers, who offer them goods that cost five to 12 percent less than the prevailing international market prices. Employing standardised grading techniques, quality control measures, customer data protection practices and multiple insurance coverages further helped the website gain buyers’ confidence in various parts of the world.
