Jewellery World Awards 2021 | 27 NIRUPA BHATT Consulting Advisor, GIA India Nirupa Bhatt served as Managing Director of the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) India and the Middle East from 2008 until June 2020 where she launched GIA services to over 60 locations in India, the Middle East and Turkey. Nirupa has since then taken up a new role of Consulting Advisor at GIA. She worked with global mining conglomerate Rio Tinto’s Diamond division for 20 years to market the rough diamond production in India and polished diamonds in the US market. An expert in gemstone and jewellery supply chain, Nirupa received several global honours for her contributions to the gemstone and jewellery industry. She has also been an active participant in several industry trade bodies including Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) and Gems & Jewellery Skill Council of India (GJSCI). Nirupa is now also a Business Success coach and Leadership Circle Practitioner. LETITIA CHOW MEI LAI CHAIR OF THE JUDGING PANEL Chairperson & Founder of Jewellery World Awards (JWA) Chow Mei Lai Letitia, is the Chairperson & Founder of Jewellery World Awards (JWA) at Informa Markets Jewellery. Letitia Chow started her affiliation with the jewellery industry in 1980 when she was appointed Executive in-Charge of the De Beers Diamond Promotion Service in Southeast Asia. In 1983, she co-founded Jewellery News Asia, and launched the Chinese edition in 1994. In 2012, to meet the needs of the industry, she started the Jewellery World Awards (JWA). MARK LEE Research Director, Asia Pacific Institute for Strategy Mark Lee has over 20 years of research and teaching experience in the areas of innovation, strategy and leadership. Mark has worked with multinational and local enterprises, such as Chow Tai Fook, Amorepacific, IKEA, 7-Eleven, MTR, Sino Group, AXA and Crown Motor. He has also been invited as guest speaker by leading associations, including the American Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong Brand Development Council, the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong, GS1 and the Hong Kong Exporters’ Association, among others.
