14 JNA AWARDS • 2020 Established in 2000, the Shanghai Diamond Exchange (SDE) is a nationwide non-profit membership organisation. A member of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses and authorised by the State Council, SDE is the only legitimate platform for the import and export of diamonds in mainland China that enjoys preferential import tariff concessions and domestic VAT reduction. It is also the only channel that handles import formalities for all bonded diamonds destined for the domestic market. SDE has been operating in compliance with international business practices, providing a just, fair and safe transaction venue to global diamond dealers.
