JNA Awards 2012 Jewellery Industry Best Practices

65 JNA AWARDS 2012 To further propel the brand onto the world stage, TTF has invited many internationally known craftsmen and artisans to participate in collaborative efforts in jewellery design and manufacturing. Among them were Tokyo-born designer Kazuhiro Yamanaka and Korean artist Ahn Sang-soo, who both rendered their own personal and cultural styles to create statement pieces for TTF. The company also partnered with Chinese artists Xu Bing, Wang Xu, Chen Shaohua and Zhan Wang, who designed jewellery pieces based on the theme of Chinese calligraphy. Drawing on those collaborative partnerships – as well as the expertise of Didier Brodbeck and Cesare De Vecchi, the company’s art director and technical advisor, respectively – TTF creates jewellery pieces worthy of being called timeless works of art. Design-driven brand TTF’s many recognition and accolades do not end with the jewellery pieces. The company president, Wu, was voted one of the Top 10 most influential people in the Chinese jewellery industry in 2011. Also last year, in October, TTF’s jewellery design centre – the Frank Wu Design Institution – bagged the Grand Prize in the Chinese Architectural Industry Design Contest, which greatly solidified TTF’s position as a design-driven brand. “The Frank Wu Design Institution provides a professional training ground for jewellery professionals. It covers industry-wide services from brand building and store designing to package designing and advertising promotion,” Wu said. “It offers a service platform that draws on the design force of more than 40 in-house designers as well as internationally renowned artists.” Being nominated for two categories at the inaugural JNA Awards, TTF feels “pleasantly surprised,” said Marketing Director Jing Wang. “We feel honoured to receive an opportunity to join such an elite roster of top international brands,” Wang said. “In BaselWorld, we exhibited in Hall 2.1 as the only Chinese brand. This time around, we are honoured to be the only mainland Chinese brand at the JNA Awards. It’s our 10th year of establishment this year, and this is such a good measure of our constant pursuit of excellence. These nominations are a huge breakthrough for our business. They celebrate our endeavours and 10 years of hard work, and also signify the start of our achievements for the next 10 years.” Frank Wu, founder and president of TTF High Jewellery TTF’s jewellery workshop Coloured gemstone necklace by TTF TTF Design lounge
