JNA Awards 2012 Jewellery Industry Best Practices
63 JNA AWARDS 2012 Through the years, these same attributes have earned the group countless recognition both locally and overseas. “These recognitions, particularly our present nomination for Manufacturer of the Year at the JNA Awards, celebrate Pranda Group’s nearly four- decade-long dedication to innovation and service,” he said. “Quality and shorter production lead times have become major requirements of customers. Pranda Group has proven to be a reliable partner who can provide consistent high-quality products within the required production lead times,” Tiasuwan said. “The group is able to increase its global client base through continuous improvement in both designs and manufacturing process, as well as strict quality control, on-time delivery and consistent high-value results.” In 2011, the group’s own brand manufacturing (OBM) accounted for 30 percent of the total business, while original design manufacturing (ODM) was at 70 percent. Currently, the group provides ODM services to a global client list, with various distribution channels including television shopping networks, department stores, chain stores and mail-order catalogues. Moving forward, Pranda Group aims to increase its OBM business by expanding into China, India and Europe. Pranda Group’s vision is to become “a world-class jewellery brand company,” said Tiasuwan, adding that “teamwork, continuous improvement and a stakeholder- focused approach” are key to the group’s success. While striving to maintain its status as a leading global supplier of high-quality jewellery, Pranda Group has also dedicated its efforts to promoting corporate social responsibility. Beyond business Pranda Group believes that for its business to achieve sustainable growth, corporate social responsibility awareness must extend to both its internal and external stakeholders, Tiasuwan said. “This not only shows that we care deeply about the well-being of our employees, but also the community living near our factories, the environment, our customers, suppliers and our shareholders – all of whom are considered stakeholders in our business,” he said. One of the most notable initiatives of the group is providing work for people with physical challenges. “We believe in everyone’s potential. They may lack something but they may excel in several things. Pranda’s task is to draw on their strengths and offer them an opportunity to contribute,” Tiasuwan said. “For Pranda Group, corporate social responsibility is more than just an expense. We have done this with good conscience and see no excuse why this shouldn’t be achieved.” Prida Tiasuwan, chairman of Pranda Group Pranda Group’s manufacturing facility in Thailand Gold pendant with amethysts and blue topaz by Pranda Group Earrings by Cai of Pranda Group
