52 JNA AWARDS 2012 Leibish & Co: Itzik Polnauer Twenty-eight-year-old Itzik Polnauer is maximising fancy coloured diamond specialist Leibish & Co’s online presence to reach new customers, educate the market about fancy coloured goods, and further drive the company’s brand forward. Polnauer, who is shortlisted for the Young Leader of the Year (Age 30 or below) category in this year’s JNA Awards, is responsible for some of the most exciting online sales and marketing programmes that the Ramat Gan-based diamantaire has launched in recent years. “I am honoured to have been shortlisted for this category, especially from such a prestigious organisation. I look at the nomination as an opportunity to further my goal of raising the profile of fancy coloured diamonds and stepping up our efforts in consumer education,” he said. Polnauer oversees the development of an interactive system that integrates Leibish’s stock management database and website management program; thus synchronising its back-end office tools and front-end website. Every stone that is entered into the inventory is automatically uploaded to Leibish’s website. This set-up delivers huge time and cost savings, and improved efficiency to the company. Polnauer also spent months putting together the industry’s “largest and most comprehensive” guide to fancy coloured diamonds. Called the “World of Colours,” the guide features an interactive display of diamonds in 12 different colours, more than 90 secondary hues, nine intensity levels and over 230 colour combinations. The “World of Colours” is designed as a tool that anyone can use and learn from. Strategic online presence For more than three decades, Leibish & Co has been at the forefront of the natural fancy coloured diamond trade. The diamantaire was one of the first companies in the industry to embrace the online space, launching its portal, www.fancydiamonds.net, in 1995. The website enabled the company to realise new business opportunities from around the world, focus on its core target customers and further raise the visibility of the Leibish brand.
