45 JNA AWARDS 2012 State pioneer The last 30 years have seen the company live up to its motto: “Every jewellery brand has a history; only a precious few make history, like Kashi Jewellers.” The first retailer in Uttar Pradesh to export jewellery, it started with deliveries to the UAE, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia in 1979. The export division eventually expanded to service the UK from 1985, the US from 1992 and Europe from 2000. In January 2005, the company was awarded Star Export House Status by the Indian government. Kashi Jewellers boasts the distinction of being the first retailer in Uttar Pradesh to sell diamonds to consumers in 1990. It is also recognised by the GIA as achieving the highest number of carat points (based on technical skills, diamond know-how and consumer awareness) in the Asia-India region. Kashi Jewellers has also achieved a number of “firsts” in retail innovation and customer service. It was the first manufacturer to launch a branded jewellery line in Uttar Pradesh, the first jeweller to give customers a 100 percent Money Back Guarantee for diamond jewellery and the first Hallmark BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) Jeweller in Kanpur. Award tally All of Kashi Jewellers’ achievements in design and craftsmanship have not gone unnoticed. In August 2008, Kashi Jewellers bested some 300,000 jewellers to win the National Award for Best Retailer in India. Its high-end jewellery masterpieces have reaped national recognition, including the Indian Jewellers Choice Design Award 2011 and the National Jewellery Award 2012 in Parimparik Jewellery. The feather in Kashi Jewellers’ cap is arguably its 2010 National Award for Outstanding Efforts in Entrepreneurship in Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (Manufacturing). The company is the only jeweller in India to receive this honour, according to Kashi Jewellers. Other proud moments in Kashi Jewellers’ history include Shreyansh Kapoor’s election as Board of Director of the All India Gem & Jewellery Trade Federation (GJF) in April 2011 and his subsequent appointment that October as GJF’s Regional Chairman for the States of Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Haryana and Bihar. Kashi Jewellers’ inclusion in the JNA Awards shortlist for the 3 Decades of Excellence Award, however, raises the bar for the company. “We are absolutely thrilled, happy and honoured to be included in such a prestigious event as the JNA Awards 2012.
