JNA Awards 2012 Jewellery Industry Best Practices
43 JNA AWARDS 2012 “My goal was to create quality products that move gracefully with their wearers, and it was a challenge creating that ‘repeatable quality,’” he said. “Our latest collection is called Stenzhorn 2nd Skin because the jewellery pieces are so soft that they rest on the body like a second skin.” “We went only with a few pieces of Stenzhorn 2nd Skin a couple of months ago and those pieces have been selling well since day one. Now we have developed a whole range and we plan to expand our collections and markets further,” Stenzhorn said. “I’ve always been fascinated by soft, flowing jewellery pieces. Soon, we’ll try to incorporate other materials such as pearls and big coloured stones.” Stenzhorn added: “Innovation is very important, especially during difficult times. Customers appreciate it if you do something special, or if you go out of your way to develop something for them. There’s extra value in that.” Quality is equally important, he noted. “There must be a conscious effort for manufacturers to always push the level of quality one notch higher. If a competitor produces better quality products than us, then we should respond by upping our efforts,” Stenzhorn explained. “Whoever is pushing up the quality in their production is also pushing up the quality of products for the whole industry. Ultimately it benefits the consumer, the manufacturer and the industry as a whole.” Brand recognition K.S. Jewelry utilises advanced CNC technologies to deliver top-quality jewellery items, Stenzhorn noted. The company’s factory in Thailand employs three CAD designers and six model makers who create designs using software such as Matrix and Rhino. With more than 30 years of experience in the field, K.S. Jewelry continually reviews its manufacturing processes to meet ever-growing market demands. The company’s efforts did not go unnoticed when it was included in the JNA Awards Honourees List for Industry Innovation of the Year – Manufacturing. “Over the years, we have been recognised by trade insiders for producing high-quality goods with focus on innovative techniques, products and processes,” Stenzhorn said. “With our latest high-tech product, the Stenzhorn 2nd Skin, we have shown where we want to go in CNC in terms of production and quality.” “With the JNA Awards honour, I believe we will receive more recognition for what we are doing and it should result in more opportunities and business for us,” he said. “This will also help us strengthen our brand, as more people will know about our offerings and how we value quality and innovation.” Klaus Stenzhorn, founder and managing director of K.S.
