The confluence of art and jewellery gives birth to the most captivating and extraordinary masterpieces, some of which are already making history in prestigious museums and international exhibitions.

Blending traditional craftsmanship with modern ideals and artistic interpretations, these jewellery pieces are more than an adornment; they are a medium for artists to convey emotions and experiences.

The works of legendary jeweller Wallace Chan fit the bill. Celebrating more than 50 years as a jewellery designer, Chan’s artistry remains unparalleled in the jewellery world. His creations are regularly featured in international events, including the prestigious Biennale des Antiquaires and TEFAF alongside other premium exhibits in London, New York and Hong Kong, to name a few. 

Most recently, his “Half A Century” solo exhibit was held at the Shanghai Museum in China from July to October 2024. Chan is also a renowned sculptor and innovator. He invented the “Wallace Cut” in 1987, establishing his status as a master sculptor.  This signature technique features reverse carving and requires precise gem faceting to create multidimensional designs. 

Following Chan’s footsteps is music prodigy and contemporary jewellery artist Anna Hu. Beloved for her versatile, culturally rich and intricately designed pieces, Hu has achieved something truly remarkable: Four of her exceptional creations are now part of the permanent collections of preeminent museums in London, Moscow, Paris and Boston. 

Hu’s creations have adorned high-profile individuals such as Oprah Winfrey and Madonna, to name a few. With her musical background deeply ingrained in her psyche, the designer draws inspiration from classical music, interspersed with elements from nature, her cultural background as well as several artistic movements.

“Jewellery is the best representation of its owner and wearer. It has a very human element to it – soft, organic and fluid. I always keep this in mind when I design and create my collections,” shared Hu.
