The International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA) has named its board of directors 2025, with Australia's Damien Cody returning as group president.
The board election, which saw former directors resuming their duties as well as new ones replacing those who stepped down, was held at the ICA Congress in Brazil in May.
Elections are held every two years. Newly elected ICA directors serve an initial two-year term and are eligible for re-election to an additional four-year term.
Doug Hucker, CEO of ICA, commented, “New elections also represent the addition of ideas, perspective and energy that will help the board navigate the challenges of the shifting landscape of global trade and ensure that all our members can prosper.”
Incoming new directors are Lucas Amelung of the US; Ashoo Sinchawla of Thailand; Himas Isab of Sri Lanka; Katherine Kovacs of Australia; Manuela Soares of Brazil; Arun Jain of India; Captain Ramji Sharma of Japan; Saurabh Bansal of Germany; and Dacques Nini of the US.
New officers of the board are Ioannis Alexandris of Germany (vice president); Sharma (vice president); Benedict Lavoie of Canada (secretary); Amelung (secretary); and Armil Samoon of Sri Lanka (treasurer). Joining them in the executive committee are Hucker as well as former ICA President Clement Sabbagh of Brazil.
