Sourcing opportunities abound at Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong (JGW) 2024, with vendors displaying their latest and finest collections at the highly awaited fair.
More than 3,300 companies from over 40 countries and regions are exhibiting at two world-class venues – AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE) and Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), fair organiser Informa Markets Jewellery said.
The show gathers top-tier names in diamonds, coloured gemstones, pearls, fine jewellery and jewellery-related technologies, equipment and tools, and packaging products and services, among other categories.
AWE is hosting JGW 2024’s jewellery materials section until September 20 while the HKCEC portion, which showcases finished jewellery, packaging and technology solutions, will run until September 22.
Fancy colour diamond and coloured gemstone specialists at AWE are training the spotlight on exceptional, never-before-seen pieces. One of the show’s main attractions is Yellow Lava, a 16.92-carat radiant-shaped, flawless vivid yellow diamond from Venus Jewel.
Vivid yellow diamonds rarely come in such a large size and in flawless clarity, revealed Devansh Shah, partner at Venus Jewel. “This limited-edition piece is destined to become a treasured family heirloom or an iconic statement of personal luxury,” he said.
Meanwhile, top-quality fancy blue diamonds, bearing vivid intense and deep colours, are the hero products at Scarselli. Also adorning its display windows is an expansive selection of fancy yellow diamonds, some of which weigh 40 carats to 60 carats, according to founder Bruno Scarselli.
Coloured gemstones are likewise in the limelight. Wilds Co Ltd is displaying a 20-carat-plus Padparadscha sapphire from Sri Lanka with intense pink and orange colour. The gem carries a price tag of around US$1.5 million, noted Wild.
Vijay Laxmi Ltd is also offering a broad inventory of sapphires in calibrated sizes. It also specialises in multicolour layouts. Sales Director Shubham Jain said, “We cater to a diverse audience, so we provide both heated and unheated stones. We hope to meet new clients, partners and suppliers and look forward to fruitful interactions and meaningful connections at JGW.”
An impressive diamond jewellery set, meanwhile, is turning heads at Shiv Narayan Jewellers Pvt Ltd at HKCEC. The Niva Necklace is adorned with 326 pieces of old European cut diamonds weighing a total of 615.41 carats. The necklace comes with a matching pair of earrings, which is also included in the total carat weight.
“The diamonds are certified by the Gemological Institute of America,” revealed Tushar Agarwal of Shiv Narayan. “It took 10 years to collect all these diamonds as it is quite challenging to find different shapes in this quality. Most of them are perfect pairs, making the piece even more special.”
Over at Aspire Designs Ltd, the limelight is on its Paraiba tourmaline masterpieces. The Oceans Crown jewellery set, comprising a formidable necklace, bangle, ring and pair of earrings, features 185 carats of Paraiba tourmaline stones from Mozambique and 90 carats of diamonds.
