The most exciting product launches are once again in focus at Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong (JGW), the biggest B2B fine jewellery and gemstone sourcing fair in the world, according to show organiser Informa Markets Jewellery.
The “One Fair, Two Venues” B2B marketplace will be held from September 16 to 20, 2024 at the AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE), showcasing a wide range of loose diamonds, coloured gemstones, pearls and other precious materials. Subsequently, opening two days later is the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) section of the fair, which will run from September 18 to 22. This exhibit will grant buyers access to a diverse array of finished jewellery, packaging products and technology solutions. In addition, SEASONS | Autumn Fashion Jewellery & Accessories Fair will be held concurrently with JGW from September 18 to 22. Located in Hall 5BC of the HKCEC, SEASONS | Autumn is renowned as Asia’s top wholesale sourcing hub for trendsetting collections tailored for the Spring/Summer seasons of 2025 and beyond.
JGW’s highly anticipated 2024 edition is hosting more than 3,300 exhibitors from over 40 countries and regions. Adding to the excitement are two exceptional highlights: The Sustainability Awards 2024 by JWA (Jewellery World Awards) Recognition Ceremony in conjunction with the Sustainability Heroes Panel Series, and the groundbreaking “Year of the Pearl” exhibit, “Orient Odyssey: From Shell To Market – The Fascinating Life Of Pearls.” The pearl showcase, located at Booth 3M260 in the HKCEC, is a project of Informa’s Jewellery & Gem Knowledge Community in partnership with The AUTORE Group, Edison Pearls, Hatta New World Co Ltd, Japan Pearl Exporters’ Association (JPEA), Japan Pearl Promotion Society (JPPS), Jewelmer, Paspaley Pearling Company, Professional Association of Pearls Zhejiang, Rio Pearl, Tahitian Pearl Association Hong Kong (TPAHK) and Zhanjiang Pearl Association, among others. Complementing Orient Odyssey are panel discussions led by iconic luxury pearl jewellery brand, Mikimoto, and pearl superstars Paspaley, Autore and Jewelmer.
“At JGW, every corner reveals thrilling product discoveries. With 40+ pavilions offering a variety of loose stones and finished jewellery in different price points and styles, our signature zones broaden the range of resources available to international buyers, further enhancing their sourcing journey,” noted Celine Lau, director of Jewellery Fairs at Informa Markets Jewellery.
JGW’s premier sections include the Fine Gem Pavilion (FGP), Fine Design Pavilion (FDP), International Premier Pavilion (IPP) and CORE Pavilion, among others.
“The showcases in these pavilions capture the magic of jewellery. Here, the fusion of rare precious gems, design and masterful artistry goes beyond individual elements, creating masterpieces greater than the sum of their parts,” Lau continued.
Fine Gem Pavilion
The FGP, a prestigious zone in Hall 9 of AWE, gathers top gemstone dealers favoured by legacy brands, designers and collectors. These suppliers boast decades – some even over a century – of expertise, their names synonymous with rare and exceptional gemstones.
The lineup includes Paul Wild of Germany, a family-owned gemstone manufacturer run by members of the 10th generation and a renowned supplier of precisely and beautifully cut stones; Garaude of France, which specialises in the trading of natural and untreated coloured gemstones, including rubies, sapphires, emeralds, spinels and other precious gems, and Colombian emerald specialist EMCO Gem Inc of the US, a multi-generational, family-owned and vertically integrated mining, cutting and marketing gemstone company that offers rare no-oil stones in single and matching pairs as well as finished jewellery, to name a few.
Fine Design Pavilion
Buyers seeking finished jewellery products will find the HKCEC section of JGW to be a treasure trove of incredible discoveries. The Grand Hall is home to FDP, where red carpet-worthy jewellery, adorned with diamonds, coloured gemstones, pearls and other investment-quality gems, will be revealed.
Among the exhibitors shining at FDP are Alexander Laut, a jewellery house with a well-deserved reputation for its fine collections that showcase the allure of rare coloured gemstones; Dehres, which has made a mark through its ever-growing collections of exclusive loose stones, as well as timeless jewellery using the finest diamonds and gemstones, and award-winning designs; and Heinz Mayer, a family-owned manufacturer of fine jewellery with an uninterrupted gemstone tradition in Idar-Oberstein, Germany since 1599, to name a few.
International Premier Pavilion
True to its name, the IPP in Hall 3B of the HKCEC is home to a distinguished array of top-tier jewellery ateliers that exhibit cutting-edge collections. With a strong emphasis on innovative design, artistry and exclusivity, the focus here lies on creative expression and individuality. These jewellers often push boundaries by incorporating unconventional materials, shapes and concepts, and revamping classics with a contemporary flair. The collections offered are modern yet timeless, crafted to be worn and cherished for a lifetime.
Among the must-visit stands at IPP are industry greats such as Crivelli of Itay, renowned for its fresh approach to design while maintaining the brand’s hallmark refinement; Thailand-based Lume Creations, which has excelled in crafting diamond jewellery accented with precious stones; Bapalal Keshavlal, a leading international jewellery brand from India that has garnered acclaim for manufacturing excellence and its dedication to quality standards, and WOLF 1834, Limited of Germany, a 190-year-old company that specialises in handmade luxury cases, display materials and accessories for jewellery and timepieces, to name a few.
