Arnt-Eirik Rornes has joined miner Greenland Ruby as CEO. His immediate priorities include increasing sales, analysing historical mining data and enhancing operations.
A qualified geologist from the University of Tromso, Rornes has extensive experience in the oil industry. For the last six months, he had been assisting Greenland Ruby’s parent company, Leonhard Nislen & Sonner AS (LNS), with the assessment of new mining projects.
According to Frode Nilsen, CEO of LNS and chairman of Greenland Ruby, the group would benefit from Rornes’ international experience and broad expertise in terms of further development of Greenland Ruby.
Noting that Greenland Ruby involves many business areas in different parts of the world, Rorne said, “The LNS group has always fascinated me and their willingness to think unconventionally and dare to bet comes through clearly in a pioneering project like this. It is particularly important for me to succeed in making this a financially sound project.”
“I am already well underway with the tasks and look forward to working closely with our people in Greenland and other locations,” he added.
