Pandora has appointed a consumer goods and beauty industry expert to lead its business and growth strategies in China – a key market for the Danish jeweller.
Irving Holmes Wong is joining the company as senior vice president and general manager of the Greater China cluster, reporting to CCO Martino Pessina. Wong formerly held high-level management positions at Avon, Bacardi-Martini, Revlon and L’Oreal.
In his new role, he will be in charge of Pandora’s business in the Greater China cluster, which employs more than 2,000 people and covers 250 concept stores across mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau.
Pandora targets to triple its Chinese business from 2019 through a two-phase plan: Solidifying the brand by establishing the core proposition of collectability, affordability and self-expression; and focusing on growing Pandora’s store network.
Pandora generated sales of DKK 1.1 billion (around US$162 million) in mainland China in 2021, accounting for approximately 5 per cent of the company’s total revenues.
