De Beers Group’s diamond jewellery houses will now be under one CEO as a result of the company streamlining its retail operations.
Céline Assimon, current CEO of De Beers Jewellers, will also oversee De Beers Forevermark following the departure of former CEO Nancy Liu. Assimon will continue to report to Stephen Lussier, chairman of both jewellery retailers. The change will take effect from September 5, 2021.
“Positioning the two jewellery houses under Céline’s leadership represents the latest step in the evolution to a ‘one De Beers’ strategy,” the group remarked.
Liu was instrumental in De Beers Forevermark’s global expansion, particularly in China’s diamond jewellery market, according to the group. As De Beers Forevermark CEO, she led the development and implementation of the business’ wholesale and retail strategy. For her part, Assimon, who came on board as CEO of De Beers Jewellers in September 2020, has built an expertise in the high-end jewellery and luxury sector.
