An auction of polished diamonds by Alrosa is taking place in Ramat Gan, Israel from March 1 to 11. The company’s cutting and polishing division, Diamonds of Alrosa, is organising the event.
The lots include polished diamonds weighing over 5 carats as well as fancy yellow, pink and purple stones. A major offering is a pear-shaped diamond bearing a rare intense yellowish-orange colour.
“There is stable demand for fancy colour diamonds among customers around the world,” said Pavel Vinikhin, head of Diamonds of Alrosa.
Alrosa usually holds a polished diamond auction in March on the sidelines of the jewellery and gem trade fairs organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council. The shows were postponed to May over concerns on the coronavirus outbreak.
