Hong Kong Museum of Art
Renovated in 2019, the Hong Kong Museum of Art or HKMoA has benefited from its grand makeover: Floor-to-ceiling windows offer expansive views of Victoria Harbour while the spaces within have expanded to a total of 10,000 square metres to house 18,800 sets of art pieces and artefacts in 12 galleries. The current special exhibition, “Fragrance of Time – In Search of Chinese Art of Scent,” delves into the rich culture of fragrance deeply embedded in Chinese ancestor and deity worship and to enrich the daily life of ancient people. Three separate art installations – A Story of Time Through Scents; Gathering of Ten Fragrances; and The Scent of Raindrops – support the main exhibition, providing olfactory delight. It is jointly organised by the Hong Kong Museum of Art and the Shanghai Museum and solely sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.
