Leading trade experts will share their insights on sustainability, jewellery design and the gold jewellery market during panel discussions at Jewellery & Gem ASIA Hong Kong 2024 (JGA).
The “Sustainable Luxury: Inspiring Case Studies in the Jewellery Industry” panel discussion will shine a spotlight on the power of sustainable business practices in driving positive environmental and social outcomes and in fostering long-term business success within the jewellery and gemstone industry.
Colombian Emeralds Exporters Association (ACODES) President Guillermo Galvis and H.K. Impex Pvt Ltd Director Mukesh Dholakiya will explore innovative approaches to responsible sourcing, eco-friendly manufacturing and impactful collaborations within and beyond the sector. Marie Feliciano, marketing and communications manager of Informa Markets Jewellery, will serve as moderator.
Scheduled for June 20 from 2:30pm to 3:30pm, this panel discussion also serves as an introductory session for the Sustainability Heroes Panel series that will take place during Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong in September.
Design journeys
The focus shifts to jewellery design on June 21. From 2:30pm to 3:30pm, “JGA Spotlight: The Future of Jewellery Design” offers a firsthand glimpse into the creative processes, inspirations and the unique paths that young jewellery designers of today have taken as they carve out their own niche in the industry.
Moderated by Pinky Seung, chairperson of the International Jewellery Designers Association and founder of Headragon, the session will feature Austy Lee, founder and designer of Austy Lee Art Jewellery; Sarah Zhuang, founder and designer of Sarah Zhuang Jewellery; and Vitoria Wu, founder of Osi Vitoria Jewelry. The speakers will share their creative philosophies, innovative techniques and how they leverage technology to push the boundaries of design.
Gold jewellery takes centre stage from 3:30pm to 4:30pm in the session on “Exploring Contemporary Styles and Technologies in Gold Jewellery Design and Manufacturing.” The panel will explore the interplay between evolving styles and technological advancements that are reshaping the gold jewellery product category.
Speakers will discuss the multifaceted nature of gold jewellery, highlighting its significance beyond the precious metal itself. They will also touch on innovative technologies that allow manufacturers and designers to transcend conventional boundaries in creativity, precision and customisation in gold jewellery production.
All the sessions will take place in Hall 1B of the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.
