Jewellery-making demonstrations and sessions on practical styling tips, useful gem and jewellery knowledge, and handy digital skills are among the activities designed to enhance the sourcing and purchase experience at Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong (JGW).
The Hatton Jewellery Institute is holding live jewellery-making demonstrations, and silver pendant hammering and jewellery colour rendering sessions at the fair.
JGW also has an engrossing line up of sessions with industry experts to impart helpful insights on the gem and jewellery world to consumers.
Trade and public visitors alike have plenty to learn from today’s seminar on Jewelry Digital Marketing and Mobile Jewelry Photography Skills and Insights, organised by the Hong Kong Jewellers & Goldsmiths’ Association Ltd from 12 noon to 1:30pm.
This afternoon's sessions address transformation and personal expression in jewellery styling. Tahitian Pearl Association Hong Kong General Manager Ida Wong will present "The World of Tahitian Pearls – Mix & Match Tips." Rosemary Chung of her eponymous Haute Joaillerie brand and Tantra Jewellery will then give her take on "Jewellery that Metamorphoses."
In tomorrow’s “The Devil is in the details: What a gem report did not tell you,” Dr. Miro Ng will highlight what people should look out for when purchasing gems. Dr. Ng is the founder and president of the Centre for Gemmological Research and professor at L’Ecole School of Jewelry Arts supported by Van Cleef & Arpels.
Meanwhile, Yen Kwan, vice president of the Hong Kong Institute of Gemmology, will discuss Contemporary Jadeite Designs for Today’s Consumers.
The Diamond Federation of Hong Kong, China, for its part, will expound on the value and significance of diamonds and proffer styling options.
Content creator and communications expert Mabel Au-Yeung will brief attendees on the auction scene in Hong Kong in her session, "Going, going, gone!" on Sunday, September 19.
Design incubator Loupe will examine the creative process in a refreshing dialogue between its designers and master craftsmen of Chow Tai Fook. Sustain Inherit – Loupe Jewellery Industry Sustainability and Development in Youth on Sunday, September 19.
